John Abbott  plays jazz, blues, and pop/rock standards. He also composes original scores for TV, radio, podcasts, films, and more. 

 

He is a seasoned guitar instructor of ages 7-adult. 

 

A profound believer that musicians should contribute to the community, John plays in benefit shows around New Jersey.  He performs in live showcases to benefit causes such as veterans, and animal rescue. John formerly served as the volunteer chapter coordinator for Guitars For Vets, a national nonprofit organization providing free guitar lessons for veterans afflicted with PTSD and other distress.

 

Dedicated to lifelong learning, John is a 2021 Magna Cum Laude graduate of the Berklee College of Music and plans to continue advanced guitar study. He also holds a master's in education from Rutgers University and is a member of Berklee Alumni - New York Chapter, The Jersey Shore Jazz and Blues Foundation, and BMI
